Elise fell in love with printmaking while in the art program at Westdale Secondary School. She pursued her passion further at the art school at Ballyfermot College in Dublin, Ireland, and afterwards at McMaster University, and has been printing ever since.
Elise works with linocut printing, which involves hand carving a reversed image into a linoleum block, then rolling ink onto the block and pressing it onto smooth paper. Elise’s most recent linocuts are inspired by photographs she has taken of nature, roads, wildlife and buildings in Muskoka and Haliburton. Where to find Elise’s Prints: |
